Provides current engineering students with access to rapid prototyping technology to support coursework, capstone projects, and lab research. This service translates digital CAD models into physical objects using specialized engineering-grade materials and printers. Requests must adhere to the engineering department's submission guidelines, including specific file formats and print time limits. By providing hands-on access to additive manufacturing, this service allows students to test design concepts and develop practical engineering solutions.
YOU MUST ATTACH:
1. A .3mf file AND
2. A .pdf(s) containing an engineering drawing with at least 3 views with major dimensions (Engineering drawings must be dimensioned in millimeters).
Additional requirements:
1. Only self-designed parts can be printed.
2. Filament consumption will be tracked.
3. The custom fields below must be filled out so that our 3D Printing staff can efficiently manage the use of the 3D Printers available.
PLEASE NOTE:
1, Cancellation - Respond to email confirmation within an hour of this form submission to cancel the print and not count towards your filament usage.
2. All communication and questions about the print job should be done through the email confirmation you receive after submitting this work order.
3. Expect lead times of 48 hours or more. During periods of high usage, the printing service lead time may exceed one week.
